My son is persuing BTech in ME. my intention he should appear for UPSC with combination of Machanical Engineering as optional.He 2 nd year student.let me suggest wheather he can prepare after BTech or well advance.
If he is going to take mechanical Optional, then it’s better to let him Complete Btech First as it will become a burden for him to take Optional coaching. But you can make him Read NCERT Books from Class 8 to 12 all Subjects, History, Geography, Polity, Economy, General Science, Environment and Art and Culture. Later on You can guide him to study Standard Books., History – Modern India Spectrum Publications, Medieval India Satish Chandra, Ancient India By Rs Sharma (Old NCERT PDF available on our site), Geography (NCERT Books enough and you can add GC Leong), Indian Polity – Laxmikanth Enough, Indian Economy ( Ramesh Singh one book) or (Key Concepts by Shankar Ganesh with Sriram IAS Material ), for Art and Culture – Get Nitin Singhania or Spectrum Publications Facets of Indian Culture with CCRT Notes, for Environment – Shankar IAS Environment (one book enough).
